AMD B840 chipset replaces the cheaper B650 series Gigabyte leak has confirmed a new chipset for the upcoming AM5 Ryzen CPUs.  AMD will introduce at least four new chipsets for its AM5-based CPUs. The X670E and X670 chipsets will be succeeded by the X870E and X870, respectively. The Extreme variant, X870E, will feature two Promontory21 chipsets, while the X870 will have only one. The X870 series will support PCIe Gen5 x16 and at least one PCIe Gen5 SSD. Changes are also coming to the mid-range segment. The B650E and B650 chipsets will be replaced by the B850 and B840, respectively….
