All Companions In Code Vein 2
Share

Code Vein 2 may not offer an online co-op feature like its predecessor, but it maintains (and expands upon) its companion system for this blood-soaked sequel. As in the previous outing, you’ll be able to summon a variety of unique characters to fight alongside you in battle–or simply absorb them to make yourself more powerful in solo combat. Whether you choose to let them help you tackle your encounters or assimilate to push through battles alone, rest assured, these companions will provide a huge help throughout the game.

Due to Code Vein 2’s time-traveling story, things can begin to feel a bit complicated, though. Some characters are only available when you’re in the past, while others can only be brought along when you’re in the present. Even more, the game will frequently pair you up with certain characters for lengthy story missions, not allowing you to swap them until you’ve completed the segment. Because the timelines are in constant flux, it can occasionally feel daunting trying to keep up with who you can use and when.

Luckily, while each companion can certainly add a meaningful difference to your build, they’re not so overpowered that you’ll be at a drastic disadvantage when not using your preferred helper. Still, their passive bonuses can add small boons to your character, such as slightly increased stats, improved casting speed, and so forth–so it’s always a good idea to bring along a companion that complements your playstyle when you’re able.

As a final note, you may run into story-specific companions that join your party for only a mission or two, but they won’t be available to summon once their time with you has completed. As such, we’ve compiled a list of all permanent companions who will join your party throughout Code Vein 2’s story and what their passive bonuses bring to the table.

Spoiler Warning: Some companions below are not unlocked until late in Code Vein 2’s story, so read on at your own risk.
