This is the most common scenario where, vendor sends a single pallet containing five different SKUs. And we can’t put the whole pallet in one bin because SKU A goes to Cold Storage, SKU B goes to General Shelving, and SKU C is Hazardous for example. This Process-Oriented Storage Control (POSC) solution directs the pallet to a Deconsolidation Work Center. There, a worker scans the items and “re-packs” them into smaller, destination-specific HUs and moved to respective storage bins.
And this deconsolidation steps are applicable for certain products from specific vendors where vendors usually sends the different SKU’s within single pallet. This will be control by process type determination indicator. For standard products direct putawy can be carried out.
