SAP Asset Performance Management (APM) has a two-layered synchronization model:
- ERP system to SAP Asset Performance Management (External Synchronization) – This step synchronizes master data, configuration, and transactional data from S/4HANA or SAP ECC into SAP APM.
- SAP Asset Performance Management to Embedded IoT (Internal Synchronization) – In this step technical objects are synchronized from SAP APM to the Embedded IoT layer. This synchronization runs asynchronously as soon as the technical objects and indicators become available in SAP APM.
