Pokemon Pokopia’s new 2.0 update is live, and this introduces the ability to dive and explore underwater. This new content also adds several new items to the game, including the highly requested shared storage system called the Portal Pod. In this guide, we’ll explain how to unlock and craft the Portal Pod, so you can access items and materials with greater ease.
What is the Portal Pod?
Pokopia’s 2.0 update adds the game’s first shared storage item called the Portal Pod. This storage unit works similar to the Ender Chest in Minecraft or the Guild chest in Palworld. The Portal Pod lets you add or remove items from anywhere, which means you no longer have to travel from town to town in order to hunt down the specific item you’re looking for in storage.
How to unlock the Portal Pod recipe

In order to craft a Portal Pod, you’ll first need to unlock the crafting recipe. This recipe is unlocked by leveling up the environment in Palette Town. The Portal Pod crafting recipe can then be purchased for 3,000 coins from any Pokemon Center PC.
How to craft and use the Portal Pod

Once you’ve purchased the recipe, you can then craft your very own Portal Pod with the following materials:
- 10 – Pokemetal
- 1 – Rare Pokemetal
If you’re low on Pokemetal, the quickest way to restock is by visiting the Sky Dream Island with Drifloon.

The Portal Pod is a storage unit you’ll likely want to build for each town, so you can access the shared items stored inside from any location. The Portal Pod has 140 item slots. This means you can store plenty of important resources, building blocks, or whatever items you use most.
Example: Store a bunch of ore you collected from Rocky Ridges in that town’s Portal Pod, and they’ll be ready to collect from the Portal Pod Palette Town when you need them. No fast traveling required.
