Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 just released on October 23, but Season 1 is already scheduled to arrive next week. This inaugural season includes the game’s first battle pass, more weapons, and a new DMZ map. Warzone’s integration is also included with the big update, bringing two Modern Warfare-themed maps to Call of Duty’s battle royale.

Call of Duty Season 1 start times

Season 1 of Modern Warfare 4 and Warzone arrives on November 6. Call of Duty is shifting back to later releases for post-launch updates this year, with Season 1 arriving on November 6 at 12 AM ET / 5 AM GMT and on November 5 at 9 PM PT.

What to expect from Season 1

New weapons and blueprints

This first season of Modern Warfare 4 includes a battle pass packed with cosmetics, multiple seasonal events, and new weapons to unlock.

Battle pass

The Season 1 battle pass features over 100 pieces of unlockable content (excluding BlackCell) and includes two base weapons to unlock. The paid $10 pass is needed in order to unlock all the standard pass rewards, and Call of Duty’s $30 BlackCell bundle returns this year for those wanting even more cosmetics to unlock.

Four seasonal weapons

  • Cronen Osprey assault rifle (Battle pass)
  • CSG-35 submachine gun (Battle pass)
  • JAK 12 shotgun (Mid-season event)
  • ZLR Talonhawk melee weapon (Mid-season event)

Season 1 also includes a few new weapon attachments to unlock through the season.

Limited-time events

For events, Season 1 starts with the Wager Match limited-time event. This is available across all modes, and players can earn camos and other cosmetic rewards. Other MW4 events will become available later in the season.

More multiplayer maps and modes

Canyon new MP map

The following three maps will arrive at launch:

  • Backstab – Brand-new 6v6 core map
  • Canyon – Brand-new 6v6 core map
  • Shoot House – (Reimagined) 6v6 core map

Additional maps will arrive with Call of Duty’s midseason update, including a variant of Modern Warfare 4’s Kill Block Gunfight map that will also be used in core multiplayer modes.

For game modes, there are a few returning modes from previous Modern Warfare games. This includes Grind, where players must collect dog tags from fallen enemies and deposit them into one of two bank zones on the map. Dropzone requires teams to capture a rotating objective, and killstreak care packages are periodically dropped onto the map.

New DMZ content

DMZ’s X01 map

The DMZ extraction mode is getting an additional map called X01, which is a smaller map similar to Building 21 from the DMZ beta. This map will provide players with new DMZ Orders, special Lieutenant Hunts, new enemy types, exclusive loot, and more.

More FOB upgrades will be available in Season 1, including a “classified” 3D printer upgrade, seasonal updates to the boss board, and access to Call of Duty’s in-game shop.

There will also be limited-time events for all DMZ players during Season 1.

Warzone integration

Season 1 integrates Modern Warfare 4 content into battle royale, meaning Black Ops 7’s movement is gone alone with some of the old maps. DMZ’s Hajin will be Warzone’s large standard battle royale map, while Zodiac arrives as the smaller Resurgence map. Activision’s Season 1 roadmap didn’t include any further details on what content will be added or removed for Warzone.
