The Artist Life is one of the new Lives available in Fantasy Life i: The Girl Who Steals Time.
As you might imagine, the main thing the Artist does is… make art! This Life will allow you to create brand new items to customize and decorate your island with. As the game itself says, it’s an Artist’s job to bring color to the world!

How to Unlock the Artist Life | Fantasy Life i: The Girl Who Steals Time
Much like the Farmer Life before it, the Artist Life unlocks naturally through progressing the game’s main story. More specifically, you need to progress until you complete Chapter 5-15: Go to Kikyo’s House. This becomes available as soon as you restore Kikyo’s human form earlier in the chapter.
Do keep in mind that you will need to talk to the Goddess Statue in your Base Camp to restore Kikyo from being a Strangeling. This will also require you to offer Celestia’s Gifts as a “payment” to the goddess. The exact amount depends on your Island Rating. Nonetheless, you can pick up Celestia’s Gifts every in-game day in your Base Camp, they appear as blue star-shaped flowers.
Once you’ve restored Kikyo’s human form, go to Kikyo’s house near the Piccas Resort. Talk to Kikyo there, then go to the Guild Office in Eternia Village.
At the Guild, just talk to Auntie Anne and select Change Life. The Artist Life will unlock and become available, so you can use it anytime you want from now on!
This will also unlock the Artist’s Story quests, starting with “Set My Soul Ablaze!”. Visit Paulette at Paulette’s Atelier Tropica Isles to do those quests. They double as a tutorial for the Artist Life, so they’re worth doing ASAP.
