With any MMO, there are a lot of variables when it comes to combat; Blue Protocol: Star Resonance is no exception in that regard. Whether it’s your first time playing or you’re a seasoned veteran, this guide will provide you with everything you need to know about combat.
Understanding Your Class
Each class comes with an unchangeable basic attack, a special attack, and a very powerful ultimate. You also get four expertise skills of your choosing. You can equip those skills by going to the skill menu and dragging over the four skills you want to use in battle.

Class Roles
There are three class roles:
- Tank – Their purpose is to charge in and draw enemies into groups. Then it does big damage.
- DPS – Their purpose is to do damage to the enemy.
- Healer– They want to keep the team alive.
Understanding each role not only helps you in building your class but also helps you when you are in battle with the other classes. As you can understand their role and can work around accordingly.
Imagines
Imagines are just summons you can use to attack during battle. However, the main purpose of having Imagines is for their stat bonuses.
You want to get an Imagine that matches your class. The Imagines that are purple tier or above give those passive stat bonuses.
Just look for the one that corresponds to your player, like intelligent classes want to get an Imagine that has the Intellect stat bonus. For more insight into Imagines and how to get them, check out our guide on the process.

Class Resources
Each class has a unique resource that is used for that specific class. This will be the bar above your skill bar.

If you go to your skill tab, each skill you can pick will tell you how it interacts with your resource. The resources are used as you use some of your regular abilities, as they work as a form of “power” for them.
Talents
As you work through the skill tree, you will see talents that consume your resources.
Once you work through the first Expertise page, you can then pick one of two subspecialties that allow you to unlock even more specific talents.

Learning how your skills interact with your class resources will be one of the most important bits of knowledge to have as you go forward in the game.
Power of Unity
The Power of Unity is a group perk that applies when all three roles are filled within the team. This gives you a +25% stat damage boost for everyone. This encourages you to play in a well-balanced team.

Dungeon Play
Always let your tank go into battle first. One of the first things they will do is group the mobs so the team can use AOE’s and be more efficient in battle.
Red Circles in this game generally mean that an attack is coming in that area. But that doesn’t mean you should always run from there. You should learn what each red circle means and how to respond effectively.

Soak
Soak is a term for grouping up in an attack area so the damage taken by the enemy is split between everyone within the indicator. This will resemble a red circle with four arrows in the center.

Healing
If your HP is getting low in battle, you can look in your bottom right and scroll through consumables. The Healing Aromatic is the traditional healing “potion” you will use to improve your HP.
The heal-over-time foods are also very good if you are playing without a healer.

Reading the Boss
Reading the boss can be tricky. But there are usually several different ways to understand the battle. First, next to the boss’s HP bar, there is an attack indicator that tells you what the boss is about to do, with a countdown. This should be something you are always looking at during the fight.

Mechs
The game will sometimes have unique mechanics to beat battles. This will come in the form of hints while you are mid-fight. Sometimes it’s using a teleporter at the right time to avoid a sweeping sword.
Each battle is different, but just pay attention to what the game is telling you and follow the instructions.

Perfect Dodge and Phantom Dash
Perfect Dodging is dodging at the exact time the enemy uses their attack. It will prevent you from taking damage. But be careful, it does use stamina.
You can use Phantom Dash once you have gotten to the top of the mountain in Terra Resonance. You can use this to quickly travel around in battle. This will be one of the best skills to have in high-level battle.

Markers
If you are the party leader, you can mark spots on the field that will help your team understand where it is they should be. This is pretty useful when trying to visualize where you want your team to go and even helps split up groups.

Bane Lord
Bane Lord can show up in different dungeon battles. When he shows up, you should try and defeat him as he is guaranteed to drop Legendary loot. He can be defeated five times a week.

And that is your comprehensive combat guide on each important mechanic you need to understand battle in Blue Protocol: Star Resonance. With each of these fundamentals down, you will have your character maximized and be ready for any battle the game throws at you.
