Execute SAP PaPM UM API via SAC through Multi Actions’ API step

Introduction

User can trigger SAP PaPM Universal Model API via SAC Multi Actions’ API Step, here is the step by step blog to set up such a workflow.

Create Multi Action with API Step to trigger SAP PaPM UM API

  1. Create HTTP API Connection
    1. Choose Connections on SAC menu
    2. Choose Add Connections
    3. Search “HTTP API”
    4. Fill in the required connection information, then choose Create.

  1. Create Multi Action and add API step connecting to the public API of SAP PaPM UM

  1. Execute Multi Action
    1. This multi action can be executed in story, analytics application, and scheduled via Calendar. Here is the example of running in Story.
    2. Add Multi Action Starter.
    3. Choose this Multi Action on the builder panel.
    4. Execute this Multi Action.

  1. Check calculation result on SAP PaPM UM
    1. The PaPM UM process is generated.
    2. Choose “Show Data” to check the calculation result on TOTAL column.
    3. The result of TOTAL is correct.
      • The value of “QUANTITY” we set in Multi Actions’ API Step is “2”, according to the calculation rule “TOTAL = AMOUNT*QUANTITY”, the formula is “AMOUNT*2”, so the result on TOTAL is correct.
