In some projects, there is a requirement to customize this message based on company branding or to clearly differentiate between system environments.

Requirement

The requirement was to replace the standard welcome text with a custom message in order to:

  • Improve user experience
  • Clearly identify the tenant or environment (QA / PROD)

Solution Overview

SAP FSM provides a standard configuration option to control the home screen (shell) content.
Using Label Translations, the default welcome text can be modified without any custom development or extensions.

Process for Customizing the Welcome Text

  1. Log in as Admin and select the company for which you want to change the home screen welcome text.
  2. After selecting the company, scroll down to the Translations section and click on it.

     5. Maintain the Following Details

  •  Clients: ALL
  •  Language: Choose your preferred language (for example, English)
  •  Key: SHELL_WELCOME_TO_SAP_FIELD_SERVICE_MANAGEMENT (For the home screen welcome text, this key must be used.)
  • Value: Enter the text that you want to display on the SAP FSM home screen. In my case, I used the following value: (Welcome to SAP FSM – Production Environment )

Result

After saving the translation and refreshing the session (or re-login), the updated welcome text is displayed on the SAP FSM home screen.

Conclusion

Customizing the SAP FSM home screen welcome text using Label Translations is a simple yet effective configuration that improves usability and environment clarity. Since it is configuration-based, it can be easily maintained without additional development effort.
