SAP Sapphire is about connection. One of SAP’s goals for the event is to connect its customers with the right solution to solve their business needs. The keynotes, customer demos, and product showcases focus on this. Another key objective is bringing people together – customers, partners, and SAP experts – to have meaningful conversations about problems enterprises are facing and how to address them. The sessions in ASUG’s Community Hub provide a structured framework to tackle complex topics such as how to adopt AI in your organization.
How are you feeling about AI in your workplace? Answer in the chat below.
Why we care about AI and adoption
Nicole Smythe and I are facilitating an ASUG Community Conversation on how to overcome barriers to AI implementation in your organization (ERP1864). Our goal is to help participants create a 90-day plan to turn your thoughts into action and move forward with AI in your organizations.
Nicole leads product marketing for AI in SAP Cloud ERP Private, so she is very focused on ensuring that customers obtain the maximum value from their investments in SAP. My team, Cloud ERP UX Foundation, creates embedded AI capabilities for SAP Cloud ERP, so we want people to use what we build. I’m also active in ASUG (co-lead for SAP Cloud ERP community and Northern California chapter) and the SAP Community. We’re both excited to meet with customers to find out what is holding them back from going all-in on AI.
SAP has many options for AI: embedded and Joule, base and premium
SAP has many options for AI, but which is best for you depends on your organizational readiness. Organizational readiness is not based on what top executives say about using AI, it’s about how individual people use AI to make their jobs more efficient. And usage only happens if people have the knowledge about the AI tools and technologies and how to use them effectively in their specific roles.
SAP has a range of AI solutions to address different business challenges.
In our various interactions with customers, we are finding a range of feelings from optimism to fear about using AI in their jobs. Sometimes we see a mix of feelings in the same person. Yes, AI can be very confusing. One thing that most people agree on is that they are not confident their organizations have the skills to succeed with AI.
Bridging the AI skills gap starts with identifying the specific challenges
That is the purpose of our ASUG workshop. We want to address the skills gap and get people talking about what barriers they need to overcome to implement AI in their organizations. We’ll split into groups and people can discuss what skills they feel they are missing and brainstorm ideas on how to overcome one or two challenges.
If you are going to Sapphire and are thinking about rolling out AI in your organization, please join us to learn some ideas about how to accelerate your progress. If you have already figured this out, please join us to share your knowledge with your peers.
