[[{“value”:”See how Vendor-Managed Inventory (VMI) in SAP Integrated Business Planning (SAP IBP) helps vendors plan, replenish, and manage inventory at customer locations, with automated execution into SAP S/4HANA for a more connected replenishment flow.
In this release highlight and demo, the VMI process starts by planning replenishment for customer locations identified by the new VMI plant type. Vendors can receive forecasts and enter demand directly at customer locations, giving planning full visibility into replenishment requirements. When you run supply planning, SAP IBP evaluates demand at VMI customer locations and automatically creates stock transfer requisitions (STRs) based on transportation lanes between customer locations and vendor distribution centers.
A key step is reviewing STRs for execution. The Projected Stock app includes a new conversion indicator so planners can review and mark STRs for conversion into VMI sales orders. Once marked, orders are locked and ready for execution handoff. With real-time integration, marked STRs are picked up automatically and corresponding VMI sales orders are created in SAP S/4HANA, reducing manual order entry.
You also get stronger end-to-end visibility in planning. VMI-specific key figures show sales order receipts and delivery receipts directly in planning views. As outbound deliveries are created and goods issue is posted in SAP S/4HANA, updates flow back to SAP IBP through real-time integration so planners can track progress from forecast to delivery in one synchronized view.
