Have you ever asked yourself how the requirements created in Fit to Standard workshop can be shown and used in SAP Signavio? This is now possible thanks to the new capability in the integration between SAP Signavio and SAP Cloud ALM, released this April 30th.
The Challenge
Previously, Process Modelers faced challenges in accessing process requirements directly within SAP Signavio. They were required to navigate to SAP Cloud ALM to identify applicable requirements for their process models and then return to Signavio to implement those requirements during the modeling process.
How it Works
With the updated workflow, users can now initiate the creation of requirements directly from SAP Signavio, which seamlessly redirects them to the relevant section in SAP Cloud ALM. After creating and linking the requirements to the project, scope, and the synchronized process model in SAP Cloud ALM, these requirements will automatically appear in SAP Signavio, organized by project and scope. This streamlined integration ensures that all necessary information is conveniently accessible within SAP Signavio, enabling users to manage process modeling and requirements efficiently from a single interface.
The new feature uses the best of both products. You can continue to create requirements in SAP Cloud ALM within your project, and once you take the following steps, those requirements become directly applicable to your SAP Signavio process models:
- Sync the SAP Signavio process model to SAP Cloud ALM, where it becomes part of a solution process
- Publish the solution process in SAP Cloud ALM
- The solution process is added to your project’s scope which has enabled Custom Solution scenarios and
- The requirement is assigned to solution process or its elements
Regardless of whether your requirement is assigned to a solution process, process flow, process activity or value flow, all related requirements will appear directly in the SAP Signavio diagram page for your process model. The new Requirements section in the Diagram page in the screenshot below shows requirements grouped by project and scope, providing details of the requirement together with navigation button for more details in SAP Cloud ALM, as well as an opportunity to create requirements in SAP Cloud ALM, by clicking the Create button:
During the Fit-to-Standard workshop, when requirements are gathered in a scenario where prior assignments have already been completed, the requirements can be conveniently accessed directly beneath the process model. This streamlined approach not only saves time but also centralizes the brainstorming process, fostering efficiency and collaboration.
How to Enable it
Don’t want to enable requirements for your workspace? No problem, you can easily opt in and opt out. The following screenshot presents the necessary switch which enables the requirements for your workspace:
After the requirements are enabled, you need to allow their appearance on the Diagram page, by selecting Requirements in the following page:
Final Thoughts
Regardless if you are Process modeler or Requirements creator in Fit to Standard workshop, the Diagram page now provides you detailed view of requirements related to your process model. Implementing the whole workflow from creating through assignment of requirements and their appearance in SAP Signavio is easy with a step-by-step guide which you can find in our documentation:
