Many SAP Cloud Integration (CI/CPI) teams use Log Payload to diagnose failed messages, but this can store sensitive information in Message Monitoring, including personal data that should not be visible to all support users. This blog presents a practical payload masking approach that keeps troubleshooting effective while reducing compliance risk. The payload is masked at the beginning of the iFlow so any logging captures only masked values, and the original payload is restored just before the receiver so the target system still receives the real data. The result is clear and useful logs that preserve structure and key identifiers, without exposing confidential values.
