One of this Prime Day’s best video game deals is a 36% discount on last year’s Pokemon Legends: Z-A for the Nintendo Switch 2. You can get the game for $45 (was $70) as part of the sale, which runs until Friday, June 26. It’s important to note that this is an Amazon Lightning Deal, and 11% of stock has been claimed at the time of publishing.

This physical version comes with the full game data on the cartridge instead of Game-Key Card that requires a download, and it includes the original Nintendo Switch version with the Switch 2 upgrade pack. GameSpot’s Jake Dekker gave Pokemon Legends: Z-A a seven out of 10 in his review, saying “[t]he real-time battle system recontextualizes familiar moves and strategies in exciting new ways”, but was unimpressed with the game’s visuals; “Lumiose City is visually uninteresting and fails to adequately represent the people who live there”.

Pokemon Legends: Z-A (Switch 2)
$45 (was $70)

Pokemon Legends: Z-A for Nintendo Switch 2.

Pokemon Legends: Z-A is the second in the Legends subseries after Arceus. Released last year, it takes place in Lumiose City from Pokemon X and Y and features the return of Mega Evolution, even introducing a few new Megas exclusive to this title. Like Arceus, you play in third-person, engaging in hybrid turn-based and real-time combat you’d expect from the series, and wild Pokemon roam around the world instead of as random encounters. So Shiny hunting or finding your favorite Pocket Monster is a little bit easier in these games.
