Evo 2026 is in the books, with new champions crowned in Street Fighter 6, Tekken 8, and more of the top fighting games on the scene. As is tradition, along with the competitions came a steady supply of fighting game news across multiple developers and publishers.
Below, we’ve gathered all of the major announcements from the weekend into one place. Announcements included the final character announcements for Marvel Tokon’s launch lineup, DLC plans for Avatar Legends, a pair of retro revivals from SNK, and a few shadow drops to boot.

The Samurai Outriders join Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls
The final team coming to Marvel Tokon was unveiled, as Blade, Loki, and Deadpool will join Ghost Rider to form the Samurai Outriders. Deadpool in particular stands out, as a PlayStation Blog post that surfaced after the reveal describes him as “somehow obtain[ing] a game strategy guide from beyond the fourth wall, granting him access to a variety of unique attacks from fighting games of legend.”
Kenshiro from First Of The North Star is now available in Fatal Fury: City Of The Wolves
We knew Kenshiro was joining the FF: COTW roster, but SNK shadow dropped the legendary anime hero just after the Fatal Fury tournament ended.
SNK revives Art of Fighting 3 with a new character
SNK wasn’t done with Kenshiro, however, as the company announced The Path Of The Warrior: Art Of Fighting 3R, a rebalanced version of the retro fighter with a new character in King.
This was the second of two retro revivals SNK confirmed, as Ninja Masters, a more obscure piece of SNK history, was shadow dropped onto Steam.
Lux and Samira are next for 2XKO
The next two champions for 2XKO are Lux and Samira, as confirmed via a trailer that aired after the 2XKO final.
Invincible Vs Season One details
The first seasons of DLC for Invincible VS launches June 30, and it will include two playable characters–The Immortal and Universa–along with multiple new skins.
The Bakunawa Killer enters Virtua Fighter Crossroads
A new character enteres the Virtua Fighter Crossroads Arena in The Bakunawa Killer, who has some connection to Pai Chan. Early theories suggest it’s Pai’s father, Lau Chan, or her rival, Lei Fei.
Bob is next for Tekken 8
Bandai Namco brought a trailer for the next Tekken 8 DLC character, the combination of speed and weight that is Bob. A brief teaser for Roger Jr, which channels a popular viral video involving a kangaroo and a dog, was shown at the end of the video.
Robo-Ky join Guilty Gear Strive
Next up for Guilty Gear Strive’s roster is Robo-Ky, who joins the roster July 2.
Avatar Legends DLC details confirmed
The first season of downloadable content for Avatar Legends will include five fighters: Iroh, Ty Lee, Lin Beifong, Bolin, and a fifth to be voted on by the community. The voting options are Tenzin, Kuvira, Amon, King Bumi, and Asami.
