We are pleased to share the highlights of Two-Tier ERP with SAP Cloud ERP for the release 2608. This release brings three powerful innovations, such as AI-driven planning and availability check and execution across headquarters and subsidiaries that strengthen cross-tier order processing; inter-instance flexible constraints as part of PMRP; and, last but not least, quality Inspection within Decentralized EWM. Let’s walk through these innovations,
1. Joule-Based Two-Tier ERP Availability Check
This scenario, as part of the “Sales Office as subsidiary” Archetype, covers three use cases that introduce the Joule-Based Two-Tier ERP Availability Check. This seamless, AI-assisted solution enables real-time stock visibility and customer commitment across both tiers of your ERP landscape. In a Two-Tier ERP setup, the subsidiary runs on SAP Cloud ERP (Tier-2). The Inside sales officer needs to check the availability of products that may be stocked or produced at headquarters (Tier-1), which runs on SAP Cloud ERP Private. With this innovation, planners and sales teams at the subsidiary can now use Joule to trigger an availability check across tiers, create Sales Orders for end customers, and initiate Purchase Orders with the headquarters – all through natural language interaction. The solution delivers real-time stock visibility across both tiers, proactive insight into HQ stock availability and delivery timelines, and faster, more reliable customer commitments.
Business Benefits:
- Seamless availability checks and order execution across tiers
- Faster and reliable customer commitments
- Optimized inventory utilization across tiers
- Boosted operational agility

2. Joule-Based Cross-Tier Flexible Constraint Visibility
The second highlight brings AI-Assisted Cross-Tier Flexible Constraint Visibility to Two-Tier ERP planning, enabling subsidiary planners to access supply-constraint information from headquarters through simple natural language queries in Joule.
When a subsidiary manufactures finished products using subassemblies supplied by headquarters, understanding the maximum available supply quantities for upcoming planning periods is critical. With this innovation, planners at the subsidiary can query Joule in natural language to instantly retrieve flexible constraint data from the HQ system, covering both single-material and multi-material constraint insights. Not limiting here, it can also create supplier constraints with the generic constraint information retrieved from headquarters. This eliminates manual back-and-forth between planning teams and creates a more connected, AI-driven planning experience across the two-tier landscape.
Business Benefits:
- Real-time cross-tier supply visibility
- Faster planning cycles and decision-making
- Improved supply commitment accuracy
- Enhanced collaboration across business units

3: Cross-Tier Decentralized Extended Warehouse Management and Quality Management
Last but not least, this scenario extends the Two-Tier ERP warehouse integration story with a new scenario on Decentralized Extended Warehouse Management (EWM) at headquarters with Quality Management triggered from a subsidiary. In this release, a new 7L1-based scenario has been added where the subsidiary (Tier-2, SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition) creates a Purchase Order and an Inbound Delivery, while headquarters (Tier-1, SAP S/4HANA Private Cloud with Decentralized EWM) executes Quality Inspection and stock follow-up handling – deciding between blocked stock for scrapping or return if quality accepted, putaway to unrestricted stock – and synchronizes inventory back to the subsidiary. Here, the capabilities covered are Inbound Processing, Replenishment and Internal Movements, and Physical Inventory.
Business benefits:
- Real-time update of inventories in EWM and Inventory Management
- Quality nonconformities caught at the right time
- Full warehouse visibility across tiers
Capabilities covered: Inbound Processing, Outbound Processing, Replenishment and Internal Movements, Physical Inventory. For details, please go through the blog by Sheeba P: Decentralized Extended Warehouse Management and Quality Management in Two-Tier ERP
