Rockstar has shared more details about its long-awaited and heavily hyped Grand Theft Auto 6, and one key piece of information is that the game’s map is apparently three times bigger than Red Dead Redemption 2’s. The game takes players back to Vice City, a stand-in for Miami. Players will also be able to explore the surrounding areas.
A New York Times report featuring interviews with Rockstar’s developers said, “The overall map, the studio said, is three times as large as the playable area of its previous game, Red Dead Redemption 2.”

Additionally, the report said GTA 6 has “well over 600,000 animations,” which compares to 55,000 for GTA 5 and 300,000 in Red Dead Redemption 2.
“Every room in the game, somebody thought about this,” Rockstar North boss Aaron Garbut said. “Who’s sitting where, what they’re drinking, the marks that are left on the table. The pictures on the wall will have the people that are in that room, with their tattoos on their arms and their family behind them. That whole thing has been made, and built, and photographed, and placed in this random room in a random building in a huge city, in a world.”
Other GTA 6 details that have been confirmed recently include how a playthrough of the main game can take 80 hours, the game returning to six-star wanted levels, and how you can pet the dog.
