The following article examines the issue of remote access from the perspective of the SAP HANA database.
Why was this blog post created?
Investigations involving the SAP HANA database often require remote access and the execution of direct diagnostic steps on the database. Often, the remote connection is unavailable not configured.
What the issue is? What happens frequently when customer opens a case?
During the case management process involving SAP support, the “zero step” required to begin effective work is often missing. Remote connection frequently completely missing or partially maintained and the missing piece of the configuration takes too much time (hours, days).
What is the solution? How can a customer be prepared?
It is advisable to maintain remote access continuously and, when necessary, provide quick customer side configurations. To do this, you need to be fully familiar with all the settings and steps required to establish the specific remote connection. It is advisable to test the remote connection at regular intervals. If remote connection prepared, in case of unexpected events, we can drastically reduce the time needed to deal with the problem.
