The SAP HANA Cloud Administration catalog organizes its commands into five operational areas, each covering a distinct dimension of database management:
Lifecycle and Configuration covers everything from initial setup to ongoing management: provisioning, starting and stopping, resizing, configuring connections, managing backup settings, and enabling advanced capabilities. Pair these commands with an external trigger, and routine operational tasks run themselves.
Upgrades and Snapshots Keeping instances current no longer has to be a manual event. List available upgrade versions, optionally rotate a snapshot as a restore point, and trigger the upgrade — all in one automated flow. Snapshot commands can also be used independently to create, list, rotate, or revert snapshots at any point, giving you a reliable safety net before any significant change.
Recovery and Business Continuity Perform point-in-time recovery to any timestamp within your backup retention window, recreate an instance from a backup while optionally changing its availability zone, copy a database to an existing target instance, or use cloning templates to capture and restore complete schema and data. These commands put serious data protection capabilities into automated workflows.
High Availability and Disaster Recovery Configure synchronous and asynchronous replicas, manage takeovers with no data loss, and orchestrate failover operations across regions. For teams running mission-critical workloads, this group makes resilience automation possible at exactly the moments when manual steps are most risky.
Observability, Connectivity, and Plug-ins Retrieve alert rules and active alerts, pull metric definitions and time-series metric values, access capacity consumption data, manage service bindings, and install or update plug-ins — everything you need to monitor, connect, and extend your SAP HANA Cloud instances programmatically.
