Originally made in two weeks for the Creepy Clicker Horror Game Jam 2026, Cmski’s idea has been expanded for this full release on PC via Steam. After the protagonist is captured by a mysterious being and dumped into a monster-filled dungeon, they strike a cruel bargain with their captor: Pay an ever-growing blood debt to secure their freedom, or forfeit their life in this roguelike experience.
Designed to resemble a ’90s “forgotten cartridge” game, Your Debt Is Paid mixes retro visuals with dark fantasy, as players experiment with build combinations to create the ultimate warrior. Every expedition is a gamble, but with some cunning and luck, you can transform your cursed adventurer into a one-hit-kill machine. Defeating monsters will reward you with Blood currency, which you can then spend to gain more strength or pay off your debt.
Just how far do you want to push your luck? That’s up to you, as the more you play, the more heroes, bloodlines, realms, and Ascension Levels you’ll unlock along the way, allowing you to form new strategies on the fly. The game is designed to be easy to learn, and since battles unfold automatically, you can take all the time you need to make crucial decisions to guarantee your survival. Your Debt Is Paid will be coming to PC in early 2027.
