[[{“value”:”Anthropic just released Claude Haiku 5.5, which it calls its cheapest, fastest, and most capable small model yet. For prompts under 100,000 tokens, it costs $0.10 per million input tokens and $0.50 per million output tokens. That’s 90% less than Haiku 4.5 and the same price as OpenAI’s GPT-6 Luna. Above 100K tokens it’s half off, and Anthropic estimates typical workloads cost about 75% less.

On OSWorld 2.1, a computer-use benchmark, Anthropic reports 72.4%, up from 15.7% for Haiku 4.5. It’s also the first Haiku with an adjustable effort setting. Anthropic positions it as a workhorse for summaries, classification, and subagent jobs alongside Opus 5.5 and Sonnet 5.5, and says the bigger models are still the better choice for complex agentic coding. All benchmark numbers are Anthropic’s own; independent results aren’t in yet.

Also announced: Sonnet 5.5 cache reads are now half price. Max and Team plans get monthly API credits, rolling out this week: $100 on Max 5x, $200 on Max 20x, and up to $500 pooled on Team.

Available today on the Claude API, AWS, Google Cloud, and Microsoft Azure as claude-haiku-5-5.
