A New Milestone for ABAP Development in China
On October 15, 2026, SAP BAIP, ABAP environment was released in China, marking an important milestone in expanding SAP’s cloud development capabilities for the local market.
ABAP has long been central to the development and extension of SAP business applications. As enterprises modernize their SAP landscapes, they need ways to preserve their ABAP expertise and existing investments while adopting cloud-ready development practices.
SAP BAIP, ABAP environment addresses this need by providing a cloud-optimized ABAP platform for developing and running applications and extensions. It enables customers to reuse ABAP skills and assets, build side-by-side extensions, and decouple custom code from the digital core—supporting a Clean Core approach and more flexible innovation cycles.
With its availability in China, these capabilities can now be accessed through the local SAP BAIP commercial offering.
