[[{“value”:”Earlier this year I had the opportunity to travel to Schwalbe World, which is Schwalbe Tires’ Headquarters located outside Cologne, Germany. While at the facility, Schwalbe gave our production team an incredibly thorough tour of their Schwalbe World exhibit before heading into the warehouse to learn more about their tire recycling program, logistics and the realities of moving millions of bicycle tubes and tires a year. Equally impressive however, is the fact in which Schwalbe has made one of, if not the most significant step in sustainability, which we’ll be showing you in a future episode. Amazingly Schwalbe has found a way to recycle 2.5 million tires and 18.3 million inner tubes in just a short time, completing their cradle to cradle philosophy on bicycle tires and global impact.
In this video, we’ll take an in-depth look at the early years, how Schwalbe became a leading bicycle tire brand, the evolution of their tire line and see a bit about Fair Rubber farmers and take a glimpse into how natural rubber farmed from trees gets turned into the grippy black donuts we trust to keep us on-track as we speed down the trail.
