Police arrests 29-year-old man and seizes BMW seen drifting on Genting Highlands road in viral video

The police have detained a 29-year-old man after a viral video showed him drifting his BMW on the road to Genting Highlands. In an official release, Bentong district police chief Supt Zaiham Mohd Kahar said police picked up on the 14-second video that was widely shared on TikTok on March 2, 2026.

In the video, a “325i,” was seen drifting on the left- and right-hand turns on the road leading up to Genting Highlands. The police soon managed to identify the 29-year-old driver, who surrendered himself at Bentong district police headquarters together with his car on March 6 at around 11am.

The suspect was arrested and initial urine tests returned negative results, while his car has been seized for further action. Zaiham said the case is being investigated under Section 42(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for reckless and dangerous driving endangering the public.
