In this learning session, we break down what pMRP is, when to use it, and how it supports production planners in identifying potential capacity issues early using a simplified requirements plan and streamlined simulation logic. You’ll see how pMRP helps you evaluate different “what-if” scenarios when conditions change, like updated sales targets, product or BOM changes, or planning configurable materials using planning bonds.
We also clarify a key distinction: pMRP isn’t intended for short-term planning. Unlike MRP Live, pMRP simulations let you choose which demand data to include (sales orders, forecast data, or both) while excluding supply elements like planned orders, production orders, and purchase orders. After running and analyzing simulations in the dedicated pMRP apps, you can release a simulation to update operational planning inputs (such as planned independent requirements or capacities) so MRP Live can consider them.
