Why does ODQMON remain empty even when SAP Datasphere Replication Flows are successfully processing delta records from ABAP CDS views?

This article explores the internal runtime architecture behind ABAP CDC-based replication in SAP Datasphere, including:

  • CDC logging tables,

  • database triggers,

  • Resilient Data Buffer (RDB),

  • observer jobs,

  • and delta processing lifecycle.

Using a real runtime walkthrough with DHCDCMON, DHRDBMON, and backend job monitoring, we will trace how records move from S/4HANA source tables into Datasphere Local Tables during both Initial and Delta replication phases.
