Supplier outages, plant outages, and unexpected supply disruptions can quickly affect demand coverage, inventory availability, and fulfillment plans. With SAP IBP 2608, AI-Assisted Scenario Planning helps planners use natural language commands to simulate disruption scenarios, identify resulting shortages, and take corrective action.
In this SAP IBP release highlight and demo, see how the AI assistant supports planners through a disruption response workflow. The video shows how to model an external supplier outage by removing affected purchase documents, excluding the supplier from the planning run, and reviewing the resulting shortages.
You’ll also see how planners can check available stock in other locations, create stock transfer requisitions, review alternative suppliers, and create new purchase requisitions directly from the assistant experience. After corrective actions are created, planners can rerun the planning run to update pegging and fulfillment key figures.
The demo also shows how planners can compare scenarios using scorecards in Planner Workspaces and, with harmonized scenario management, promote the best solution to the operative version. The same approach can also support plant outage scenarios, where the assistant removes outgoing stock transfers from the affected plant.
