The October 2026 release of SAP Signavio Process Modeler marks a significant step in how you model, govern, and connect process knowledge across the enterprise. At the center is a completely reimagined Process Modeler canvas, built from the ground up with a modern, AI-native modeling experience and deep integration with the SAP Signavio Process Transformation Suite. Alongside it, this release broadens AI access, strengthens process landscape visibility, and lays the structural foundation for your transformation initiatives.

From making AI-assisted modeling available as a Base AI capability, a beta MCP server for AI agents, and the stage one release of the Process Atom Central Repository, this release advances both the day-to-day experience of process professionals and the longer-term vision of an intelligent, interconnected process landscape. A new Process Governance Dashboard rounds out the release, giving administrators a consolidated view of workspace health, without manual audits.

Here is a summary of what the new October release brings to you:

The new SAP Signavio Process Modeler canvas

Starting now, the new SAP Signavio Process Modeler canvas is available to all customers, bringing a completely reimagined modeling experience designed for the next generation of process transformation.

It was built from the ground up around three core ideas:

  • A modern, intuitive modeling experience that helps users focus on process improvement rather than tooling
  • Embedded AI-native modeling experience where built-in intelligence guides you from the first element to a ready-to-use process model
  • Deep integration with the SAP Signavio Process Transformation Suite, connecting process design with governance, collaboration, and insights for a more actionable view of transformation

*Please note that the new canvas is off by default at GA. Administrators must activate it and assign user groups before anyone can see or use it. Find out how in the activation guide handbook.

AI-assisted Process Modeler Now Included in Base AI

Effective October 5th 2026, AI-assisted Process Modeler moves from a Premium AI feature to a Base AI capability for all SAP Signavio Process Modeler customers. No AI units required, no activation through SAP for Me. Workspace administrators can enable it directly within SAP Signavio AI Services settings, making it easier than ever to roll out AI-enabled process modeling across the organization.

For teams already using the feature, nothing changes in how it works: usage simply no longer consumes AI units. For those exploring it for the first time, AI-assisted Process Modeler lets your users generate process diagrams from text descriptions, images, and tables in just a few clicks, reducing modeling effort and making process documentation more accessible to a broader range of contributors. A fair usage limit is expected to apply at the workspace level.

Find out how to activate AI capabilities in your workspace and assign users in this SAP Help Portal post.

Turn your process data into a knowledge source for any AI agent with the SAP Signavio MCP Server (Beta)

Equip AI agents to answer natural language questions about your processes, build custom use cases on top of your process information, and accelerate AI-driven transformation, all through a standardized MCP (Model Context Protocol) connector that works with the AI tools your teams already use. No custom development. No dedicated connectors.

Want to learn how to get started with the SAP Signavio MCP server? You can find the step-by-step in our dedicated guide here.

Stage One Release of Process Atom Central Repository

Process knowledge today is fragmented. Defined in one place, rediscovered in another, and often lost along the way. The Process Atom Central Repository changes that by establishing a single, governed home for Process Atoms: reusable units of process behavior that teams and AI agents can build on together.

This Stage One Release delivers the foundational layer, introducing the Process Atom as a structured, entitled object with a central browsable repository and a basic publishing lifecycle. It focuses on establishing the core building block on which governance, AI-assisted authoring, and broader suite capabilities will follow.
